塩飽勤番所跡（しわくきんばんしょあと）
江⼾時代、塩飽領を統治する「年寄」が交代で政務を執る役所として建築された建物
です。「勤番所」と呼ばれる建物は全国でもここだけで、国の史跡に指定されていま
す。
建物内には、織⽥信⻑・豊⾂秀吉・徳川家康らが、その当時領地を認めた朱印状など
塩飽⽔軍に関わる史料が展⽰されています。
市の指定⽂化財になっている海路図は、廻船業が盛んだった江⼾時代中期に使⽤され
ていたもので、津軽半島から南下して江⼾に⾄る間の港湾や河⼝、島、⽬安とする
⼭々が描かれ、要所からの距離や通過できる場所が記載されています。
Shiwaku Kinbansyo was built as a government office where "Toshiyori" (the name of post) ruled the Shiwaku district. The post was operated on a rotating system. There is no other compound called "Kinbansyo" in Japan and it is designated as anational historic site.
In the compound, there are documents which shows the island had been given vast autonomy by the famous Sengoku warlords such as Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Ieyasu Tokugawa. And also the historical sources over Shiwaku Suigun (the group of skilled mariners based in the Shiwaku area).
The sea route map, which was designated as a cultural property of the city, was used in the middle of the Edo era when the shipping business was flourishing.
Ports in between Tsugaru peninsula and Edo, estuaries, islands and landmark mountains have illustrated on the map. And also the distance from the major points and the places where can be pass through have written there.
